Boris Sanchez was born in Yonkers, New York on October 22, 1995, to Mexican immigrant parents, who are from Guanajuato, Mexico.

He lived in the South Bronx with his parents until he turned 7. At age 7, his family moved to Yonkers.

Boris’ parents, Freddy and Alexandra Sanchez had no higher education and did not even finish elementary school. They had raised 10 children with no help from extended family or government aid.

However, Boris is one of the most educated generations in his family with three siblings pursuing advanced degrees.

Being the youngest mayor in the United States did not make Boris rich, rather he had to work very hard to get where he is. He earned his first $11.50 at age 19 as a dishwasher at a Greek restaurant. The next day, he started working as a busboy.
