Sergio Leonel "Kun" Agüero Del Castillo is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for the English club Manchester City and the Argentina national team.


Agüero has won eleven domestic titles, including four Premier League titles in five years. He has also been awarded three PFA Young Player of the Year awards, two Footballer of the Year awards in England, one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, one Supercopa de España, two FA Cups and one UEFA Champions League. He was Premier League Player of the Season in 2014-15 and 2017-18.

Sergio Agüero was born on 2 June 1988 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires Province, and played as a youth for the Argentine team Grandoli, where his father Leonel Agüero was a coach. At the age of 14, he moved to Europe, to play for the Spanish side Atlético Madrid. He made his senior debut aged 17 and scored Atlético's only goal in their defeat to Deportivo de La Coruña in the 2006 UEFA Super Cup. He was the youngest player ever to play for the club.


In the 2006–07 season, Agüero made three substitute appearances in La Liga but did not score, before Atlético loaned him to Spanish Second Division side Almería in 2007.


Agüero stayed in Spain for the 2007–08 season, signing for Real Madrid's B team, Real Madrid Castilla. Although he was not eligible to play for Real Madrid in official matches due to squad registration rules, he played several unofficial friendly matches for the club.
